While we are sad to say goodbye to Emily, SOS is excited and honored to welcome our new Executive Director, Morgan Tracey. Originally from Champion, OH, Morgan became a full-time Key West resident two years ago after being a longtime visitor to the island.
As she steps into this role, Morgan brings a lengthy and unique set of skills and experiences that will certainly benefit the SOS Foundation. First working with nonprofits as an AmeriCorps NCCC member, Morgan filed taxes for VITA in AZ, built homes with Habitat for Humanity in Blythe, CA, worked with the Boys and Girls Club in Pasadena, CA, and worked with the Clatsop Community Action group to restore a historic building for community use in Astoria, OR. Morgan has also been a licensed attorney since 2010 after graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University. Most recently, Morgan served as Director of High Performance and Director of Operations and Compliance for USA Bobsled and Skeleton after being a member of Team USA in the Olympic sport of Skelton!
Thrilled to join SOS, Morgan says, “Food insecurity is a huge issue, and to be able to work for an organization that is making such a difference in the place I’m building my family is an incredible opportunity.”
